Valid Open-Access Motor Assessment
2018 – now
Description
The project VALORA provides the clinical and scientific community with open-access software tools to perform instrumented assessments of motor functions using low-cost devices. All the assessment tools have been developed and validated by an interdisciplinary group of experts in the field of rehabilitation engineering and clinical rehabilitation.
Hand mobility and coordination are indirectly assessed in tests of hand functions and grasping during functional tasks. Specific and accurate assessment of these abilities is especially challenging given the complexity of the hand anatomy and the lack of dedicated tests.
We have developed a computerized tool that assesses hand mobility and coordination using a Tablet. The developed tool includes instrumented tests of the mobility of the fingers and oculo-manual coordination and graphomotricity tests.
